It’s so dependent on size and aircraft type.. It varies so much. With some models like my 500 size Sikorsky S-51, no ballast is needed. Fully agree, as demonstrated by pool.

Adding too much weight might denote a problem, typically missing dry test with all components and lack of anticipation, possibly difficult to optimize afterwards, e.g. once woodwork already glued in place.
